The Girls Bedroom

The Girls bedroom got a make over when we got them bunk beds...

This is the view from the hallway looking into their room.

And here I am standing by their closet door.

And here I'm standing at Kaylin's dresser.

I was really worried about adding another dresser and a bigger bed to their room, but with the crib out and the arrangement I've made it works perfectly for the girls.  Ashlyn has been doing pretty good sleeping on a bed.  She has her moments where she doesn't want to be in her room and will knock on the door then lay somewhere other than her bed to sleep.  We've found her right in front of the door, partially under her bed, in front of her dresser and in front of Kaylin's dresser.  We always pick her up and put her back in her bed each night/day when she does this.  I'm hoping that eventually she'll just stay in her bed!

Easter 2012

So apparently Blogger doesn't upload pictures backwards any more...

Guess you'll have to read our Easter post backwards!
I originally bought different dresses for my girls to wear, but since the weather was sooo iffy I didn't want them to wear their tank top style dresses to church so I decided that since my mom had finished the girls dresses and Evan's tie to match my skirt, that's what we would wear.

We got so many compliments that day, but almost everyone asked where Ryan's tie was.

Saturday, we had my Grandma Evans over for dinner and to color Easter Eggs.  The kids really enjoyed coloring on the eggs with a white Crayon, and even Evan and Ashlyn liked it!

Here's our bunch of Eggs...  They turned out very nice!

At our house, the Easter Bunny brings his surprises on Friday Night so that the kids can Find the eggs and go through their baskets on Saturday Morning.  And it makes Easter Sunday more special, because we can focus on the reason we have Easter, that our Savior Jesus Christ was resurrected and because of that, each one of us will be resurrected when the time comes.

Kaylin's Basket: She got a Rapunzel Wedding set: it includes Rapunzel with long hair, Flynn, Rapunzel with short brown hair and Mother Gothel.  He also brought bubbles, and paddle/ball toy, and a chocolate bunny.
Evan's Basket: He got Bubbles, a Chocolate Bunny, and a few sand toys.
Ashlyn's Basket: She got Bubbles, a Chocolate Bunny, and a Minnie Mouse Doll.
The Easter Bunny also left over 100 Easter eggs filled with candy and hid around the Family Room.  He also left them a new Sandbox for the backyard, and sand toys.

All 3 children were super excited and happy.  The twins mostly for the candy, but they had a lot of fun!

A Shoe OBSESSION

When thinking about who you would think had the Shoe obsession, I'm sure you thought it had to be one of my girls... well turns out they all are, but Evan is more so lately!

His favorite shoes to try on are his sisters shoes... Here he's trying to get on Ashlyn's church shoes.

He focuses so hard, and gets very frustrated when he can't get them on.  He's even started trying to stand up in them once he gets a shoe on, whether it be mine or one of his sisters shoes.  His favorite shoe to put on has to be Ashlyn's pink crocks (but she was wearing them in these pictures)!

February Goals and January Re-cap

For January 2012 My goals were: 1. Give up the Dr. Pepper! Yep you read that right... if this weight is ever going to come off me the Dr. Pepper MUST go! I had my LAST on on December 31st and I think it will be BEST for me and my health to not have it! 2. Organize my Food Storage Room, and make a list of everything I have and need in there.

I am proud to say that my storage room is organized and I have a list on my computer of what things I would like to purchase/have in there.  I didn't do so well at the Dr. Pepper thing, but I did give up some.  I have only had 4 or 5 the whole month which is really good for me.

For February 2012 My Goals are:
1. Exercise in some way every day. While watching biggest loser this last week, I had the thought that maybe if I post my weight on the Fridge, and then put my goal weight there too I will be held a little more accountable for the weight loss.  From this morning I need to loose at least 20 pounds to get into a more healthy weight for me.  I know I can do it, I just have to make it a priority.
2. Clean out the Craft Room.Somehow my craft room has become a storage area and it drives me crazy that I can't go in there and work on projects.

Tubing at Soldier Hollow

Thanks to Groupon for having a 50% off deal, and Ryan having Monday off work, we were able to go tubing as a family.  Ryan's parents were here, so that meant the twins could come too...

Miss Ashlyn looked soooo cute all bundled up... I'm sure she had NO idea what we were doing, but we all were bundled up so she must have thought it was okay.
Evan and Ashlyn couldn't go on the "big" hill so we would push them down the bunny hill they have there and then drag them up.  They both really liked it although Ashlyn took a few more breaks than Evan did!
Evan NEVER wanted to get out of the Tube... he'd prefer to stay there and be pulled around!
All of us with the exception of Nana (who took the picture).  Please ignore my beanie... I don't wear them, but I needed one so my ears wouldn't get cold!
Me and Kaylin at the top of the hill ready for Ryan to push us and all 3 of us to head down the hill.
At the very end, I wanted to see if Evan and Ashlyn could ride together in a tube...  Sure enough they both fit!  At first they were not too sure of my plan, but as soon as I pushed them down the hill they were all giggles.
If you look close at them you can see them giggling together so closely that they could be kissing.

We had such a good time... for anyone wanting to go tubing I highly recommend this place.  The pros is that you don't have to hike back up the hill, just walk over to the lift and they hook your tube on and you get a nice ride to the top.  And the price really can't be beat... the 7 of us went for $50 granted the twins were FREE, but still that's a pretty good deal!

Kaylin's Birthday Cake

Kaylin turned 4 last week, and we had a super fun "Rainbow Party" for her.

This was her birthday cake.  She wanted a Rainbow theme, so when I saw a similar cake on Pinterest I knew that this is what I would make.  This cake used 3 cake mixes, 4 1/2 frostings, but it was sooo worth it!  It turned out super cute, and until we cut into it no one knew what kind of surprise was inside.

Dancing Fun

Ashlyn loves to dance and sing... although in this video she doesn't sing, she's still super cute at dancing and has even picked up on some of Kaylin's dance routine for this dance at her recital this spring.

Happy New Year

I can't hardly believe that it is already January and 2012!! We had such a fun time with family in Oklahoma... too bad we were all too tired to ring in the New Year... all of us were in bed before midnight! This year, I have decided that my focus on goals/resolutions will be much like last year, except I am only going to have 1 or 2 goals to work on each month, because let's face it any more than that is IMPOSSIBLE for me to accomplish. For January 2012 My goals are: 1. I really think I can do these 2 things! The hardest one for me to do is definitely going to be the Dr. Pepper thing...

SANTA Visit

We found out that Santa would be in Downtown Springville yesterday, so we went over and visited with the guy! Kaylin was sooo excited to see him, and told him what everyone wanted. Evan and Ashlyn well as you can see, that is a totally different story!

Our new Table

This past week, thanks to my WONDERFUL Grandma, we got a NEW TO US Table! I'm so excited to be able to seat the whole family around the table. Evan was pretty excited to join the family at the table since his highchair can be lowered enough to be like a booster seat at the table like his sisters have!
