2 Month Stats...

Today I took the twins in for their 2 month check-up. Here are their Stats:

Evan
Weight: 10 pounds (25%)
Height: 22 inches (25%)
Head: 40.6cm (50-70%)
Ashlyn
Weight: 8lbs 15oz (10%)
Height: 21 1/2 inches (25%)
Head: 38.4cm (50%)
Dr. Johnson said that he's no longer concerned for the things he was for the twins. Both babies are growing well and are in good health. Ashlyn is following in suit with her older sister and brother by needing some prevacid. She's been really cranky lately especially at her feedings so we are trying prevacid to see if that helps her.
The twins also got their shots today, Ashlyn is handling them well, but Evan is a different story! He's WAY cranky and not eating well or sleeping all that well either. Hopefully he'll be better tomorrow!

Happy Birthday Dora!

For those of you who know Kaylin really well, she is OBSESSED with Dora!
Thanks to Walmart with their marketing sending us an invite to her birthday and to Nickelodeon for making a "Dora's Birthday" episode/movie we decided that we could celebrate Dora's birthday for Kaylin!
While at Walmart for their party, I was VERY disappointed! We got there to find NO ONE and No decorations/balloons in the toy department, but did find a flyer to pick up to take back to the photo center for a FREE card! We brought a picture of Kaylin and created the card without any instructions because there were NONE! Then we were suppose to get a cupcake for free too, so we went to the bakery and the lady there said that we had to get the cupcake from the toy department. So back over to the toy department we go and luckily they had the cupcakes there or I would have been upset!!!
Since Walmart's party was NOT a party, we decided that we would make our own party for Kaylin on Sunday afternoon/evening! Sunday Morning, Kaylin and I made a cake a cupcakes and then while Kaylin and the twins were napping, I decorated....
...the cake! I took her Dora ring and a figure/toy and make a "map" to dora's party! It isn't the best looking cake/map, but my 2 year old LOVED it!
After her nap she was so excited to see the cake and wanted to have the party right then! She kept asking when Dora was going to come, and we had to tell her that Dora lives in the TV and she would not be at the party but she would know that we had one for her!

After dinner, we lit candles and sang "Happy Birthday" to Dora! Kaylin was so excited and we had so much fun with her pretending to have a Birthday Party!

Feeding the Baby

Today, Kaylin grabbed my neck pillow for the car/airplane and said, "Look Mom, I'm feeding my baby with a boppy!" She was so proud of herself to be feeding her baby like we had to in the beginning days of feeding the twins! I LOVE Kaylin's creativity and yes a neck pillow makes a PERFECT boppy pillow for a 2 year old feeding her babies!

Swimming with Auntie Em

Before Auntie Em moved back home we had to take Kaylin swimming in her pool. Kaylin is such a huge chicken (much like her mommy) when it comes to swimming. She doesn't like to get her face wet and really she can't since she has tubes in her ears and we don't have any plugs yet! She did eventually have fun playing with the balls and running back and forth from the pool to the hot tub and a couple of times she did jump in to Em or Daddy!
Thanks Em for taking Kaylin swimming! And letting us come enjoy your pool before you moved! We wish we would have used it more often!

I LOVE our NEW swing!!!

The swing we had for Kaylin, kept dying after only about 30 minutes of swing time! And since the swings are a MUST with twins and since sometimes I need the swing to go longer than 30 minutes we just had to get a new swing!
I wanted a swing that didn't cost a LOT of money but did it's job. I looked online and found this one to have ok reviews: people thought the color was bad, or some even said it was defective and didn't swing the baby without even putting a baby in it to try it, but those that gave it high marks said that it was one of the best swings they have EVER had.
If they were accepting reviews on this swing on walmart's website I would leave the following review:
I absolutely LOVE this swing. It does NOT require batteries since you can use the adapter to PLUG it in, but if you really wanted to you could continue to buy batteries and use those instead! The music is not too bad to listen to, in fact it's probably the best music for a swing! There are 6 speeds of swinging and you can really tell the difference in each speed! If you need a new swing, I HIGHLY recommend this swing! My Twins sure LOVE it!

Murphy Family Pictures

While the family was all together for the twins blessing, we decided that we should have pictures taken of the family!
Several times over the weekend, I kept finding myself saying... we went from a small family to a family of 6 adults and 6 kids 5 of which are under 3 years old!

Which made getting a picture of all the grandkids together VERY difficult, but I am quite happy with the way the pictures turned out!

Twins Blessing Day

On Sunday, August 8th, Evan and Ashlyn were given blessings by their dad at church.
They were both WONDERFUL blessings and of course I cried, I always do!
Afterward, we had Val bring her camera and take a few pictures for us! I really liked this one of our family and will be enlarging it for my wall!

I especially LOVED the pictures of my grandparents holding the twins! They adore them and Grandpa didn't ask one time (at least that I saw) to leave early!

With a house FULL of people it got to be pretty crazy, but that's what I LOVE! I really enjoy throwing parties and this one was PERFECT! We had lots of family and friends there and was so glad to have them there to support us!
