Last Sunday dessert!

Last Sunday we went to some friends for dinner and they asked if I would bring the dessert. Instead of bring the typical cake I decided it would be fun to decorate like a football field. Both families are football fans (they being cougar fans and we being sooner fans) I thought this cake would be fun! It is my first cake to decorate and I think I did a pretty good job! Thanks Mom and Dad for the decorating kit they gave me for my birthday, I am sure I will be using it more often!!!

Pretty Dress

Kaylin finally fits in this super cute dress from Aunt Nin! When I got it out of the closet and showed her which dress she could wear she got super excited. I had to get a picture of her in it before church, because you never know what condition it will be in after (she spits up a lot)! At church she discovered the bow in front and kept playing with it and suprisingly she didn't spit up too much! I plan on going and getting professional pictures taken in this dress because she is just too Cute!!!

Milk...

Today while I was feeding Kaylin her lunch she started making the sign for milk. It took me a few times of her doing it to realize that she was signing milk. At one point she stopped eating her jar of fruit and looked right at me and did the sign for milk. I said, "Oh, do you want milk?" I stopped trying to get her to finish the jar (she had already had more than half of it and had already had a full jar of sweet potatoes) and went and made a 4 ounce bottle for her. I took her out of the high chair and then sat to feed her the milk. Most of the time she was drinking she kept doing the sign for milk. At one point she stopped drinking to look around. She acted like she was done, so I asked her if she wanted more milk (I signed and said it). She looked at me, then at the bottle and signed milk again then began to drink. She ended up drinking 3 1/2 ounces of milk. I am SO excited that she could let me know that she wanted milk. I guess the baby signing time videos she LOVES to watch have paid off and now she is starting to use what she is learning by watching the videos!!! I can't wait to see what other signs she picks up on! I am so glad that I have used sign language with her so that she is able to communicate her needs to me a little earlier than most other children can!!!

Toby Keith Concert!!!

Ryan and I went to the Toby Keith Concert last night!! (Kaylin stayed home with Grandma Evans and Auntie Em!) Chuck, the guy next to Toby, knows Ryan's Aunt Mariann and deceased Uncle Jeff. Chuck hooked us up with some sweet FREE tickets to the concert. Two days ago we got the final word that he got 2 tickets for us!! When we got there last night there were 4 tickets waiting for us! Our Friends, Tyler and Candie, won tickets on the radio and had seats on the grass so we gave them our extra tickets since I couldn't get in touch with my Aunt Sandra (a huge Toby Keith fan)!!! I couldn't beleive that we were able to get such a great picture from our seats!!! We had so much fun, and enjoyed our FREE date night!!!! Well I guess we did have to pay for dinner, but that was only $6.00 since we made $5.00 from a guy sitting behind us at the concert. He paid us to borrow our ticket to help get his friend down near him. I couldn't beleive that he gave us money but... we'll take it! So Ryan and I were able to enjoy the concert, ate dinner, and parked the car for only $6.00!!! I'd say that was a pretty cheap but one of the funnest dates we had!!!

This one made Studio 5 on TV

Here is another scrapbook page. I took a picture of this one and the last one to send to Studio 5 (one of my favorite shows) in hopes to win a basket full of scrapbooking supplies. I never did win but this one made one of their favorites today on the show! I was quite excited to see my name and Kaylin's cute face on the TV! I actually made this page at my scrapbooking club a few months ago so I don't take credit for the idea at all! Thanks to Emilee for the idea! I am so glad that she can teach me to be more creative when it comes to scrapbooking!!

6x6 page

I thought this 6x6 scrapbook page turned out so cute so I thought that I would post it for all of you to see. I really enjoy scrapbooking and creating cards or pages! I haven't really posted any of my work because I don't think I am too great at it yet, but thanks to Emilee I am learning lots of new creative ways to scrapbook!

Sunday Fun...

Well we had yet again another adventure filled Sunday. The day started at church with me getting a new calling (bear den leader), and Kaylin not napping! After church Kaylin took a LONG nap, I worked on scouting things, and Ryan made dinner. While Ryan was making the dinner he pushed the garbage into the can more and sliced his thumb on something! He didn't tell me for about an hour! When he did tell me he showed me his thumb which was pretty deep, actually I could see the tendon!! I told him that it needed stitches, and he was pretty sure that it didn't! Finally he decided that we could go in and just see what the doctor thought. At about 630 we arrived at the insta care and found out that he sure enough needed stitches! 2 stitches later we came home and had a great evening watching the rest of the Sunday night Football Game!

Another Great Weekend!!!

We have had a great weekend! Friday night we spent most of the night watching Hurricane Ike, hoping that Aunt Laura and Uncle Raymond were okay and that the Hurricane wouldn't cause too much damage to their house in Seabrook, Texas! Saturday we found out that Uncle Raymond didn't evacuate and that the only damage to their house was that their fence fell over! YEAH! Saturday we also geared up for another Oklahoma Sooners Football game. We were not too sure how they would do because they were playing a Pac 10 team and the refs usually aren't too great! Oklahoma played great and ended up winning the game 55-14!! We also watched the BYU game against UCLA... They won 59-0! Kaylin had a great time playing with Eryn (our friends little girl) while her parents went to the BYU game!!! I LOVE football season! It is one of my most favorite times of the year! We always eat good food, get together with friends, and try to have as much fun as we can! Kaylin seems to be okay with Football... although sometimes all the shouting scares her a little!

Tagged...AGAIN!!!!

The Rules:Link the Person who Tagged you.
Mention rules on your blog.
Tell about 6 quirks of yours.
Tag 6 fellow bloggers to do the same.

Here we go... Since Valerie and Nicole both sent me this on the same day I figured I must do it!

1. Toilet Paper must roll from the top of the roll! Yes I know this is CRAZY!!! I had a roommate who had this and she got me going.

2. Like Nicole... Public affection!! I am ok with the little quick kiss hello or good bye but the making out in front of others is quite annoying!!

3. Socks! I seem to find them all over the house and NEVER where they belong. If you are going to wear them, wear them right (sorry Ryan...)! The dryer or washer always seems to eat one when the laundry is done!

4. People who say they are coming over at 5 and then don't arrive until 6 or 7! If you say you are coming over be here at the time you say not an hour or more LATE, especially when I am planning on feeding you dinner!!!

5. Visitors who bring their children over, let them play with EVERY toy in my house and then leave without cleaning up (or even offering) also... those who don't watch their kids when they are over and just sit on the couch watching TV!!

6. Every girls quirk I think is to have the toilet seat down! It drives me crazy when I go into the bathroom and know that a guy used it last because I have to fix the seat!!

I now tag... Christina, Lilly, Autumn, Tiffany Jo, and Amber! Can't wait to see what you all have to say!

Walmart...

So yesterday I made a comment on my friend Autumn's blog about her adventure at Walmart. I told her how lucky I was to go in the morning in the middle of the week to avoid all the CRAZY moms with tons of kids. Well today I made my trip to Wal-Mart...

It started out with the baby food isle being crowded with a guy who was stocking shelves. To avoid him I just started at a different area of the store. When I was finished I went back to the Baby Food isle... He was gone so I began loading up with baby food. The guy came back and basically pushed me out of the way so that he could stock the top shelf. I was a little frustrated, because shouldn't he have waited for me the customer to finish?

Next, was the ever so crowded isles as they are remodeling. I couldn't even get to the paper towels because they had moved them behind a shelf and I wasn't about to crawl under the shelf to get them.

Finally with a cart heaping full of 2 weeks worth of groceries and a tired baby I went tot he check-out area only to find out that they had 2 express lanes and 3 self check-outs open. I had well over the 20 items (I did that with Kaylin's baby food) so that put me at the self check-out! I asked an associate why they didn't have any other lines open and she said, "We must not have enough cashiers!" My thought was... well then pull someone out of the already crowded isles and make them be a cashier!! So I waited in line for what seemed like forever! The lady in front of me didn't have a clue what she was doing and she had about as many groceries as I did. While waiting in line, I overheard another set of associates talking and one of them said, "I wish I could cashier, they said I couldn't do it any more and I don't know why!" I was even more frustrated at that point because they had a trained cashier in the store and she was just wandering around visiting!!! Needless to say I finally finished checking out and bagging my own groceries and Kaylin was pretty good until we got to the car then she screamed most of the way home!

If Wal-Mart wasn't so cheap I would probably go somewhere else... but until I find a money tree or a more affordable place to shop I am doomed there!!!
Anyone else have a CRAZY Wal-Mart story?

OU on Kaylin's wall

Here is the picture of Kaylin and the OU logo. Mike did such a great job on it. THANK YOU MIKE!!! Kaylin is such a big girl sitting up on her own more now. She even sat so still for this picture... she was on her changing table!

Fun times....

This weekend was GREAT! Ryan didn't have to work so he spent most of Saturday watching college football. I went to a Bridal Shower with Kaylin and then watched football with Ryan! We had our Friends Mike, Valerie, and their child Eryn over on Saturday. Mike was so great to paint the OU logo on a wall in Kaylin's room! It looks so nice, but of course I can't get the picture to upload. Sunday was a CRAZY day! We went to our Regional Conference/ Stake Conference when we got to the church there was a sign on the door that said the picture quality was better at the Stake Center. We decided that we would just stay at our church because we had walked there and I knew where the mother's room was just in case we needed to take a crying child out! At 10 when we were suppose to start they announced that they had to wait a few mintues to get the feed from the internet to work so we would start a little late. At 10:15 they announced that the buffer was finally full and that they would begin starting as soon as they could get the file to start at the beginning of the meeting not 26 minutes before (that's when they began the file download). At about 10:25 we got a couple of minutes and then it went dead. They got up and announced that we could still go to the Stake Center if we wanted but they expected everything to be fine and they would start it in 26 minutes. Ryan and I the whole time are wondering if this is even worth it... Kaylin had been so good for the 45 minutes we had already been there and we figured it was only a matter of time before she got restless. At about 10:40 we were able to hear the one conducting open the meeting and announce to the opening song. When the song would have started the screen went blank and there was NO sound. The guy got up again and said, "I strongly suggest that you go to the Stake Center if you want to see this meeting." At 10:45 we walked home and decided that we would go to our old Stake's broadcast at 1pm. We went and it was great. The most irritating thing though was that I and Kaylin went through 2 dresses today. Kaylin is my little spitter and she soaked her dress from the morning before noon and so I changed her into a different dress for the afternoon meeting. She got my shirt just before we walked into the church in the morning and it looked like I didn't EVER do laundry, so I changed after our morning trip to church and then she spit up ALL over the other shirt at the afternoon church. Kaylin also went through a onesie this afternoon so right now she is in her diaper. I am so tired of changing everyone's clothes more than once a day!!!

Kaylin's new pouty face!!!

On Labor Day (September 1, 2008) Kaylin started making the cutest little pouty face. She did it most of the day so it was very easy to get pictures of it. Since then she has done it only a handful of times. She looks so cute and has figured out when to use the face to get her own way!!!
