EVAN & ASHLYN

Have learned how to Sleep through the Night!
EVAN goes down around 10:30pm and wakes around 7am (but has gone as late as 8)
ASHLYN goes down at 10:30 as well but she wakes up at 6am.
I am so happy that they've learned this wonderful skill... I just hope that Ashlyn learns that is really is okay to sleep a little longer!

KAYLIN

is such a fun, beautiful, smart girl!
She has been into headbands lately so I've had lots of fun playing with her natural curls!
Kaylin is having a LOT of fun at Mommy's school while Daddy is at work. We are working on colors, shapes and the letters in her name! She knows a lot more now than when we first started and that makes me feel GREAT knowing that I am helping my child learn something new!

Kaylin really enjoys playing with her toys. She is really into pretend play now. She puts her babies in Ashlyn's crib, turns on the music and then goes and does something. After a few minutes she makes a crying sound and says, "my baby is crying" and goes to get her baby out of the crib. We have had to re-address that if the door is mostly closed then she can NOT go in, because that means one or both of the twins are sleeping!
Kaylin enjoys Dancing. She loves to watch "Dancing with the Stars" with me and loves to dance when the music is on. Another of her favorites is to Dance during our skype calls to Nana and Papa. She is so cute when she takes a bow at the end of the dance (Something she learned from watching "Olivia")
Kaylin likes Nursery at church! She is always so excited to show us what she made and will tell us what they talked about! She will also sing some of the songs that they sing there. She's now pretty good at the 1st verse to Follow the Prophet.
We absolutely LOVE Kaylin and are so glad she is part of our family!

Princess Ashlyn

Kaylin really enjoys her crowns and hats and she thought that Ashlyn would too!
Ashlyn actually let us put the crown on her and she held pretty still while we took a picture of the cute little princess!

September 18th

was a CRAZY busy day but lots of FUN too!

FIRST: I went to "Club" which was a LOT of fun! Ryan kept the kids so I was able to make my projects without any kids around wanting my attention too!

SECOND: We, of course, watched the OU game! Thankfully they won Air Force (but just barely)!

THIRD: On our way to Tiffany and Hunter's wedding reception we witnessed a CRAZY car accident. A silver car got in at the last second to get on the freeway from Highway 6 in Spanish Fork heading northbound on I-15. It seems that he was in a hurry since he sped in front of everyone changing lanes rather quickly. A Tahoe or something similar was in the far left lane when the silver car side-swiped the SUV, after hitting the SUV the car started spinning in circles and hit the left side barrier and then spun some more finally stopping in the right lane facing the mountains! Luckily Ryan was paying attention so we were not involved. We did call the police and reported what we saw. Later that night an officer called to talk with me about the details of the accident. Turns out that our report helped her to be a better judge at what happened! Apparently the driver of the silver car said that it was the SUV's fault and not his... HMMM WRONG!!!

Once we got to Salt Lake City we ended up making a wrong turn and got lost! Luckily we have GPS on Ryan's phone so we ended up finding the reception. While walking to the reception, Kaylin tripped and skinned both her knees. Before we were able to get her cleaned up, the Bride picked her up and gave her a hug and wouldn't you know... Kaylin got her blood on Tiffany's beautiful dress... I felt HORRIBLE! With a little luck, the baby wipes I had in the diaper bag were able to disguise the stain on the front of her dress! The reception was GREAT and the cake was even better (I'm a sucker for good cake)!!!!

The drive home from Salt Lake City was not very much fun, since Ashlyn thought that it was GREAT to cry most of the way home! By the time we got home I think all of us were glad to be home!

Mommy's School

For the last few months Kaylin has been really obsessed with School (probably from one of her cartoons she watches)!!! Yesterday, in a frustration moment, when she would not take a nap I said, "How would you like to have Mommy's School every day?" She immediately said yes so I then told her we could do Mommy's school every day if she would listen to Mom and Dad and act like the big girl she is!

So today, while she took her nap, I dug through my Preschool things (I have boxes and boxes of things I used when teaching at Kinderland) and found a large calendar that is found in most classrooms, a back to school book with a fun schoolhouse puppet and a set of colors and shapes flashcards! Then I quickly hung up the calendar on a lower wall in my kitchen and copied the puppet for her to color.

As soon as Kaylin woke up she came down so excited since she remembered that I told her we would have "Mommy School" time when she woke up! We began our school by talking about the calendar and hanging up the date (numbers) on the calendar up until today. Then we did the flashcards (she knows most of her shapes I was quite suprised, and didn't know any colors she guessed them all orange, rojo, or black)! After flashcards came coloring the puppet and making it with a lunch sack! To finish off school we had milk and cookies!

What a fun time I got to spend with Kaylin! I'm excited to have the 30 minutes a day that I can devote to one on one time with Kaylin and be able to teach her something too!

Bumbo Chairs

These two already LOVE their bumbo chairs!

Spanish Fork North Park

Today, we decided to take the kids to Spanish Fork's new park, "North Park!"
The twins stayed in their stroller, in fact Ashlyn slept the whole time!
Kaylin on the other hand, LOVED the park!
I didn't think she would go anywhere near the splash pad, but... She did and really enjoyed it a lot. We had to shed her pants because they got so wet!
They have the coolest climbing thing, that I'm sure if she were just a bit older she would have really liked climbing on it!

She did play on the toddler age part and seemed to like it. She tried out all the tall slides, and climbed on everything she could!

This swing was so fun! She loved all the swings there and could have been in the swing the WHOLE time!

If you live close by, I recommend this park, and if you don't... come visit! We'll go with you!

Football Season

It's that time of year when all of us are dressed in our OU red every Saturday!
I especially love Kaylin's outfit this year! She looks so cute!

Growing Hair???

Auntie Em was playing with Evan when I heard her say, Bobbie Come here!
She met me in the hallway with Evan wearing this:

We all had a good laugh as he was wearing one of my mom's dolls hair!!!

Christmas Cards...

I was asked by the Relief Society to come up with 6 different Christmas Cards that would be easy enough for the Sisters to make if they want at Super Saturday in October!
I really had a Fun time coming up with different cards to make...

This one I stole the Idea from Emilee but changed it just a little to make it my own!

This one is probably my most favorite one!

Last year a couple of the sisters helped make Christmas cards and there were lots of Blue so I thought why not have another blue card!

This one is just simple and fun! No extra paper needed to make it cute, just some bright colored markers!

My mom gave me the best Idea to make a snow globe card! Now I wanted the card to be round and everything but I just couldn't get it to work out the way I wanted, so this is what I came up with and I must say I think it turned out pretty cute too!

Another Simple but cute card to use up some of that Christmas paper that I bought LAST year!
So, what do you think? I'm hoping that the Sisters will like them!

Strep Throat

Yesterday, I took Kaylin to the Doctor because she had been laying around all day and had thrown up too! I did not expect her to have Strep Throat, but yep that's exactly what she had! Doctor Clayton said that there were two ways to treat Strep, we could choose 10 days of antibiotic or a shot. I asked Kaylin which she wanted in several different ways and she every time said that she wanted a SHOT! I was completely suprised, but was grateful for her choice since I really didn't want to take all 3 kids to the pharmacy too! Kaylin was so brave but I don't think next time she will choose the shot!

The Twins first time to Oak City

The Cousin's Sleepover was the twins first visit to Grammy and Poppy's house! They were great in the car (they slept the whole way) and slept pretty good there too, until about 4 or 5am then they wanted to get in bed with us! The above picture is around 8am Sunday morning where they were both laying on our pillows taking up the whole bed!
During the day, they really only slept if held or in their swings. We took one of ours and gave grammy our old one so that she would have one when we came down! It was really nice that they both had a refuge place to go when they got too overwelmed (that happens when you are only 2 months old)!!!

Cousin's Sleepover Weekend

We had a really fun time at the Sleepover; however, most of the actual night was spent inside with the twins. They got too overwelmed and just wanted to be away from everyone. Kaylin did attempt to sleep outside by Auntie Em, Chris and the Stanworth Family! She almost made it, but came in around 4:30am!
Kaylin had such a fun time up at the park for Oak City Days on Saturday! She had a GREAT time being pushed on the swing,
and going for rides on the little train!

Sarah really helped out and spent some time with Kaylin too! (Thanks Sarah)

The twins spent their time covered in their stroller! It was SOOO windy and I didn't want them to be too upset that night!

Several people wanted to "peek" at the twins so this is as much of the park that they saw, usually one at a time uncovered! Maybe next year it will not be so windy and they will get to participate in the games and such at the park!
