Our CRAZY June 30th!

Today started out as any other day (except for the fact that the twins slept until nearly 8:30)! We had Physical Therapy for Evan and then I volunteered to watch 2 of my cute Nephew's (Kolby and Kord) while their mom, my sis-in-law, went "couponing"/ Shopping! I know what a pain it is to shop with children so to help her out I figured why not let the kids play; yep I was crazy I had 5 kids who were 4, 3, 20 months, and two 1 year olds! It really wasn't that bad though... the twins took a longer late afternoon nap, and the other kids played down in the toy room! I PACKED and PACKED and then PACKED some more since we are leaving for Oklahoma in the morning!

Fast forward to dinner time... we made something easy with things we needed to use up from the fridge before we leave! In the middle of Dinner a neighbor came and asked Ryan to come help move things in for a new neighbor who was moving in today. Ryan finished his dinner then went over to help. In the meantime, Evan decided that what he ate wasn't what he wanted so he THREW UP all over the place. In the meantime, kids are running around CRAZY and I'm cleaning up Evan, and then once I start cleaning up the high chair, Ryan opens the door and says, "Bobbie, Don't freak out, but come here quick" I'm thinking what in the world has he done? I open the door to see my new neighbor standing there with Ryan and my husband was COVERED in blood, holding a bunch of paper towels, which are now full of blood, on his head! I'll admit that I cussed when I saw it, and then immediately started looking for the ward list to call a neighbor over so that I could get my husband into the doctor for stitches! Then the thought came to me to call my good friend Amy, her number is programmed in my phone and she lives 4 doors down from me! She came over with her 2 kids and we rushed out the door to the InstaCare in Springville.

While at the InstaCare I decided that I wanted a picture of the before, so once the nurse got it cleaned up a bit, I snapped a picture and then had to leave the room, because let's face it... I get a little queasy when it comes to those kinds of things!

The nice gash in his head....

And this is at home after a few hours! He has a nice bruise type thing on his head and then the band-aid covers these....
THREE pretty little STAPLES!

We were so grateful for our friends and family who came to help with the kids! It's nice to know that in an emergency people will and are there for us to help us out!

1 Year Stats...

Today we went to our pediatrician for the Twins Well Child Check. I couldn't be happier with the relief that Doctor Johnson brought to me. For the last week we've been really concerned with Evan's weight. While at the GI specialist, he was really concerned with the fact that Evan had only gained 1 gram in 3 weeks (I was too, but he was sick for a week of it). Anyway back to today... Dr. Johnson told me that he isn't too concerned with his weight because he is still on his growth curve over the period of time that they have been charting it. What a HUGE relief that was to me... :) We have to continue with Physical therapy to get Evan crawling, but that's okay with me!

Here's their stats:

Evan
Height: 29 inches (25%)
Weight: 17 lbs 14.5 oz (7%)
Head: 49 cm (off charts)

Ashlyn
Height: 29 inches (45%)
Weight: 17 lbs 8.5 oz (20%)
Head: 46.9 cm (85%)

And compared to Kaylin at 1 year old, they are much smaller but in some things they are pretty close!

Kaylin
Height: 30 1/2 inches (90%)
Weight: 19 lbs 13.5 oz (25%)
Head: 48 cm (off charts)

I have TINY babies, but the BEST thing is that they are developing good and growing well!!

Last Year vs. This Year...

Last Year on June 11, I looked just like this:

Very HUGE pregnant, miserable from having contractions ALL day and ready to go to the hospital because they just wouldn't stop...

Fast forward to this year....
And I'm enjoying the day with my family and friends to celebrate the birth of these 2 cute babies:
Evan and Ashlyn had so much fun, probably because all the attention was on them!
They had a party just for them... They got to open fun presents (Evan even opened some on his own), play with them and just be spoiled for one day (not that they aren't spoiled all the time, LOL)!!!
This bucket that Ashlyn is sitting is was HEAPED full of my favorite and my mom's favorite, "Fisher Price" toys! While we were opening all the boxes of toys, Ashlyn sure enjoyed sitting in the bucket playing with some of their new toys!
Evan, enjoyed sitting in the bumbo playing with this cow toy. When you push on the nose, it vibrates and jiggles. He really enjoyed that toy from The Stanworth Family!

Then comes the Birthday Cake... We sang to them, then put their GIANT cupcakes in front of them!

Ashlyn was already grabbing at her cupcake before I even got it sitting on the tray... she LOVED it and only took a few "breaks" for a picture every now and then!
Evan on the other hand, well... he started out slow, but then he never took a break for anything! He LOVED his cake very much.
Evan's breaks consisted of him looking at his messy hand and then would put it in his mouth and start all over again, and Ashlyn just kept at it pausing for a picture here and there!

This is pretty much what Ashlyn looked like when she was all finished!

And Evan was a complete mess and looked like this!

On a first Birthday you know that it's going to be a mess, and you know that you're going to be stuck in the bathroom giving your child a bath, because let's face it... they need it our you'd use an ENTIRE package of wipes to get them cleaned up! Well as we were sitting there finishing up our own cake, my grandma suggested we fill the bucket (from above) with warm water, and since I had another one in the shed, I figured that was an EXCELLENT idea!
And Evan and Ashlyn thought so too! It was the PERFECT little Bath for them, and we got to stay out of the bathroom and still socialize with everyone there. Some of the older kids came over and "helped" them get clean!

This was such a fun, special day for Evan and Ashlyn!
We are so GRATEFUL for all of our Family and Friends! They have been a HUGE support to us this past year! Thank you for helping us to SURVIVE the FIRST YEAR with TWINS!!!

Wild West Wagon Parade

When I was on the computer Thursday morning, I saw that there would be a Wild West Wagon Parade to kick of Wild West Day's here in Spanish Fork. The parade was going through the streets of Spanish Fork, so when I looked at the map and saw that it was going to be coming down our street, I decided that we could go out and watch it.

The twins got put in their Bumbo Chairs with some toys and Kaylin ran around the yard, rode her bike and helped me in the flower beds.
At about 1ish the Parade made it's way in front of our street.
Kaylin LOVED sitting on the grass watching it go by...
Eventually she stood up and waved at them driving by!
I wanted her to turn around for a picture, but she never would, she was too interested in watching the parade!
