What a Fun Christmas we had!!!

Christmas Morning before all the madness began!
I hate to admit it but yep this is what the kitchen looked like Christmas morning! Later that day it didn't look like this... it was much better!
Kaylin ran straight to the twins gifts on the couch left by Santa... I couldn't believe it since she was SOOOO excited for her Dora Jeep!
If you look close at this pic you can see Kaylin's jeep is covered by a blanket... guess that's why she didn't go right to it!
But as soon as she caught a little view of the jeep that blanket came right off and we couldn't get her out of it!
Kaylin holding her sock full of stuff before she emptied it out on the table!
Taking another ride on her jeep, this time wearing her helmet.
Evan really liked his racing toy! He would just sit and stare at it! I'm sure when he is a little bigger he'll be playing with it a LOT!
Ryan was there Christmas morning, we had to get a picture of him with all the kids, since I had been in almost every picture so far that morning!
Ashlyn was such a happy baby!!! Full of smiles... that's what happens when she sleeps well at night (and it had been a few days since she did)!
Evan was pretty happy too! He usually is though and always has a smile for his Mom!
Kaylin helped the twins open their presents!
Ashlyn really LOVES the Jumper toy from Grammy and Poppy!
Kaylin had fun driving her jeep on the driveway! She is going to need a LOT more practice as she has a hard time steering and refuses to go on the road with it... so practice will have to come once the snow melts a little more!
We went a visited my Grandparents in Springville on Christmas night and had a GREAT time there!

After my Grandparents house, my parents, Emily and Chris came over for a turkey dinner! This was my first turkey I ever made... and it was really good! The rolls on the other hand... we'll let mom make those from now on!!!

Christmas Eve

Of course, I forgot that blogger uploads these pics backwards, So I'll tell you what we did then you can read the captions under the pics!!

Once all of my parents kids started having our own kids, they decided that having a Christmas Eve party to open all the gifts would be better that way we can all have our Christmas traditions at our own houses! We all (22 of us including all the kids)gathered at my parents house where we exchanged gifts, opened presents from Grammy and Poppy, ate a potluck lunch (which is really the way to go if you want a stress free party), and then the kids played with their gifts!!! After a few hours of playing, a few of us went to the town hall for the yearly town Christmas celebration (the others went home for their own traditions)! Each year there is a "Play" of the story of Christmas, then the crowd sings Christmas Songs and Santa always comes when we sing "Jingle Bells." All the kids rush to get in line to let Santa know one more time what they want for Christmas. We tried to get out of it this year since Kaylin had already seen Santa, but she insisted on sitting on his lap!!! After Santa, we went back to my parents house... opened our Christmas PJ'S (forgot to take pics of) then loaded the kids in the car and headed home for our FIRST CHRISTMAS MORNING AT OUR OWN HOUSE!
Ashlyn all bundled up in her coat so we didn't have to carry in the car seats...
And Evan
They both looked so cute and chubby in their warm coats!

The twins with Santa
And Kaylin asking for her Dora Jeep!
Here we are waiting in line to see Santa, and what better chance than to get a pic of 2 of our cute nephew's Kolby and Kord.
Poppy was more than happy to hold Ashlyn for us and she was such a good girl for him too!
Evan has decided that he is a Mommy's boy and wanted to be held by Mom almost all of the time!
Chris is playing with Ashlyn... she really likes him!
Madelyn, Hiett, and Kaylin playing Hungry, Hungry Hippos! They had so much fun playing with the toys they got for Christmas from us and Grammy and Poppy!
One of the few times that Evan let someone else hold him!
Here's Ryan holding our newest niece, Gracie (Matt's Baby)! Look at all that blonde hair!

WE HAD SUCH A GREAT TIME WITH MY FAMILY! I CAN'T BELIEVE THAT WE HAVE 9 LITTLE KIDS AROUND AND THE OLDEST IS 5 YEARS OLD! IT'S CRAZY AT THEIR HOUSE, BUT WE ALWAYS HAVE A LOT OF FUN AND KAYLIN SURE DOES ENJOY PLAYING WITH ALL OF HER COUSINS THERE!

Playing in the Snow

Last week we had a really good snow storm. We got at least 18 inches, but I'm sure in some places it was more like 2 feet! When Ryan got home from work, He and Kaylin went out to play in the Snow. I couldn't believe how deep it was. Ryan placed Kaylin in the snow and next thing we know her legs are completely covered and she can't move! Anyways she had lots of fun in the snow... much to my surprise since she really doesn't like being cold!

Grandpa Myers

Today, Ryan's Grandpa passed away! He was a GREAT man full of humor, had a love for sports (just like Ryan), and was a real genuine man. I only knew him for 7 years, but each of those 7 years I never once felt like I didn't belong. I loved how he held my hand and said, "Love you sug" when we were leaving. We really wished we could have had one more visit with him, but we know that he is in a much better place. We are so grateful for the knowledge that we have of the Plan of Salvation and that we WILL be with him FOREVER!

The above picture is of Ryan and all of our kids with his grandparents, Grandma and Grandpa Myers!

Christmas Outfits

I had been searching all over for the perfect Christmas outfits for all of the kids that were affordable and cute. I hadn't had any success so I just stopped looking all together. Without knowing what I had been looking for, we got a package from Nana and Papa and what was inside? These PERFECT outfits! Just what I had wanted and been searching for without success! I was so happy that Nana and Papa had sent them and boy did they look cute at Church in their matching Christmas outfits!!! Too bad I couldn't get the "perfect" picture! I think it's impossible to do with 3 children who were all tired/hungry after being at church for 3 hours!!!

6 month Appointment

Can you believe that these 2 cute babies
are a little over 6 months old?

Today we went in for their 6 month check-up! The Doctor said that they are growing nicely and he isn't really concerned about anything any more for them! We've got to work on rolling over from back to tummy and sitting up on their own, and then of course SOLID FOODS!!!

Here's their stats compared to Kaylin's!!!

Weight:
Kaylin: 14lbs. 7 oz. (25%)
Evan: 13 lbs. 13 oz. (4%)
Ashlyn: 13 lbs. 4.5 oz (8%)

Length:
Kaylin: 26 1/4 inches (60%)
Evan: 26 1/4 inches (30%)
Ashlyn: 26 1/4 inches (60%)

Head:
Kaylin: 44 cm (90%)
Evan: 45.4 cm (95%)
Ashlyn: 43 cm (75%)

I couldn't believe that all of my kids were the same Length at 6 months old!!! And really the twins are not too far behind Kaylin as far as weight goes. She started her life weighing 2-3 pounds more than the twins!!! Can't wait to see if the twins will ever pass up Kaylin!!!

Tangled

Every time Kaylin has seen the commercial for the Tangled movie she yells, Mom it's Rapunzel. I want to see that!

So on Friday, if she napped well and was a good listener then Mom and Kaylin would go to the movie. Kaylin thought that she needed to wear her "Rapunzel dress" to the movie so that night we went to the movie together and Kaylin looked like the above picture!
She had never been to a movie at the theater so she had LOTS of questions before the movie started but once the movie started she sat in her chair, ate her popcorn, and was so quiet (unless of course it was time to laugh)!!! About 20 minutes left of the movie I had to hold her because she was "tired" but stayed awake for another hour or more once we got home!

The next morning I asked her if she wanted to buy the movie for our house and she said, "Yes and a big TV like the one last night!"

I had so much fun on my mommy/daughter date! This is definitely something we will be doing again!

Santa Claus is Coming to Town

You better watch out, You better not Cry, you better not pout I'm telling you why...

This is a phrase that is sung almost daily in our house this time of year! We are using it to our advantage to not have tantrums.

Every year our ward has Santa visit our ward Christmas party!

So... Here is Kaylin sitting on the big guy's lap telling him that she wants a "Dora Jeep" on Christmas morning. And luckily for us this year that's all she told him she wants!

And here are the twins on his lap! Santa asked us if they were twins... we get that a LOT!

Christmastime...

I made a new countdown for this year and had so much fun making it.
Every day, after Kaylin's nap (or there about) we will take a white card from each day. On the card is an activity/treat to have. I thought this would be a fun way for Kaylin to count down the days for Santa to come, since she thinks that he is coming now since we have our tree up.
And here is our tree, but it isn't that great of a picture! Kaylin had fun helping us hang the ornaments and now every morning she says that the tree lights need to be plugged in so we can have Christmas today!

I am so excited for Christmas this year, because Kaylin is really excited for it! I love that she remembers things we did last year and is really excited for Santa to bring her a Dora Jeep this year!

Rice Cereal

I can't believe that Evan and Ashlyn are already old enough to be eating rice cereal!

Evan's first reaction was a questioning one. He wasn't too sure what Mom was giving him to eat, he still isn't! But he did eat a few spoonfuls!
Ashlyn's reaction was pretty much the same but she ate more than Evan did!

Ashlyn's Surgical Procedure

On November 16th, Ashlyn had to have a EDG done. This is a procedure where they look at her throat, stomach, and beginning of the intestines. We did this procedure to see why she is so fussy during her feedings.
We had to arrive at the Surgical Center at UVRMC by 6:30am and Ashlyn couldn't have anything to drink/eat after 12:30am! So the fact that she is happy in these pictures is a HUGE surprise!
They had us change her into a hospital gown and then keep her entertained until the doctor arrived to do her surgery. She was his first patient that day so we didn't have to wait too long. We walked her back most of the way to surgery and then we waited for about 30 minutes before she was brought back to us crying and hungry. We fed her and helped her to feel comfortable. After about another 30 minutes we were loading her in the car to bring her home. She slept most of the day, and ate okay.
About 5 days later we got her test results and everything came back normal. We decided that as long as she is gaining weight and still eating something then we will not put her through any other tests. This test was the BEST test they could do and since everything was normal then they probably wouldn't find anything else if we did other tests.
Our Cute little girl still has her feeding issues, but at least now we know that she is just a finicky eater and not something major wrong with her. She is growing good and looks healthy, she just likes to cause her parents grief each time we feed her!

Family Pictures

Here are a few of my favorite pictures taken just before we went to Oklahoma!
Kaylin had a mind of her own during the pictures so to get this cute picture with her dad was so fun! She loves her dad very much and I can honestly say she's a "daddy's girl"
Suprisingly the twins did so good during the pictures! I love that Val took pics of the kids too and not just of our family!

Evan was having one of his, "I Love Mommy" moments and was full of giggles and smiles!

Here is one of many good family pictures, but the actual one for our Christmas card will not be seen here... you'll just have to wait for your Christmas card this year!

Happy Halloween

We had so much fun in Oklahoma for Halloween this year!

Evan and Ashlyn were Thing 1 and Thing 2 from Dr. Seuss!
And Kaylin insisted on being a Witch!

On Halloween, we went trick-or-treating with all of the cousins. While at Great Grandma & Grandpa Myers' house we decided to get a picture of all 6 grandkids on the Murphy side.
Pictured from Left to Right: Evan Murphy, Kaylin Murphy, Addison Peck holding Gracyn Murphy, Emerson Murphy, Ashlyn Murphy

Kaylin trick-or-treating in Kevin and Kelly's neighorhood! She had a GREAT time and got lots of candy!

Here's a picture of most of our trick-or-treating crew! We all met up at the John's house and we all went around the neighborhood (10 kids and 8 adults)! We had a lot of fun and I think Kaylin really enjoyed going out with other kids!
