2 year old Well Child Check

Today was Kaylin's 2 year check.
Here's her stats:

Weight:25 pounds (25%)
Height: 35 1/4 inches (80%)
Head: 49.4 (90%)

Kaylin started out the appointment being a little scared, since the last time she was at the doctor was when she got the stitches in her chin. After a little coaching she did much better and opened up to Dr. Johnson. Dr. Johnson asked how she communicated and I said really good. That we have people tell us how easy it is to understand her and that she copies EVERY word we say now too. We told him that she is potty trained, and sleeps in a big girl bed. He actually asked Kaylin to come teach his little girl who will be 3 in June to accomplish these things. A couple of times during the appointment he would ask, "Now you are sure she is only 2?" and I would respond "YES". He said "I have to check her newborn paper just to make sure she isn't 3!" At the end of the visit he gave Kaylin a ring, and Kaylin asked me, "Momma, Take it home with us?" clear as day and Dr. Johnson was so pleased at how she could talk so clearly! For the first time in a while we haven't had to work on anything or be worried about anything. She is growing right along her growth curve, so I couldn't be happier for her.

Kaylin's 2 year old pictures

Love this Girl! And I love the way these pictures turned out! Thanks Val

Birthday Party...

We did have a party for Kaylin but I'm just now getting to the pictures (well actually... we have a friend, Val, take them so we don't have to worry about it!
Kaylin LOVES Dora the Explorer so we had a Dora party. When I saw this crown and sash I knew that she needed it for her special day!

Sam's Club did a great job on her cake. Kaylin even figured out how to blow out her candles with NO help!

The kids at the party were so excited for Presents time, especially Hiett. He really wanted Kaylin to open the present from his family! So she did that first!

The McCorristin's gave Kaylin a puzzle and since she LOVES puzzles she was pretty excited for a new puzzle!

Grammy and Poppy gave Kaylin more furniture for her doll house! She plays with it for at least 2 hours every day and sometimes MORE!

This Tent is the gift that the Stanworth's gave Kaylin! She wasn't too interested in it on her birthday, but now she plays in it every night! She's even got Ryan and I to join her inside!

Of course, No party is complete without cupcakes, so again, Thanks to Sams club we had some really rich cupcakes that the kids and adults really liked!

The Birthday Girl enjoying her cupcake!
Thanks so much to all of our friends and family that came to her party! She had so much fun celebrating her 2nd birthday with those she loves!

Where were you 2 years ago today?

I bet you were not in a labor and delivery room getting ready to have the cutest little baby like I was!

Kaylin Sarah Murphy was born on January 23, 2008 at 4:48pm. She weighed 8 pounds 7 ounces and was 19 inches long!

I was so excited when I learned that Dr. Gammett was the doctor on call, because he was my favorite doctor in the group practice that I go to! He made the delivery so much fun! Believe it or not the above picture was actually his idea!

I couldn't be more happy to have this little girl in my life. She has learned a lot in the 2 years that she has been with us! She has learned to sit up, crawl, walk, run, eat by herself, talk, sleep in her own big girl bed, and open doors!! In the last 2 weeks, Kaylin has learned to go "potty" with very little accidents!

Kaylin really likes:
1. Dora the Explorer
2. Playing with other kids
3. Playing with her doll house
4. Cooking in her kitchen
5. Chocolate Milk

Happy Birthday Kaylin!

Santa lives in Spanish Fork

Yesterday at church Kaylin told me, "Momma, Santa's at church". I had to explain to her that No that is Brother Olson. She is totally convinced that Santa lives in our ward and goes to our church! I guess we can use that later on when we need the "Santa's Watching You" line...

Potty Training

On Monday we began potty training Kaylin. She did very well on her first day going 7 times in the potty and 6 accidents (none of which were #2 accidents). Day 2 she only had 4 accidents; Day 3 she had 2 accidents; Day 4 she had 1 accident and that was the first morning pull-up wet; Day 5 she was accident free! Day 6 well.... it hasn't been so great but she is still going potty on the toilet and well she has had 3 accidents but we are making progress with going as the day has progressed! I couldn't be more proud of Kaylin and look forward to when she always makes it on the toilet! Until then, we'll just be glad that we are not changing any diapers for her any more and we can save our $$$ to start buying diapers for the twins!

All I want to do...

One of Kaylin's favorite songs that comes on the radio regularly is "All I want to Do" by Sugarland. As soon as the song starts she starts singing the ooo, ooo, ooo part. It is so fun to hear her sing it while we are driving down the road. When it gets over she ALWAYS says, "Mommy, more" to which I have to say sorry it was on the radio. Well tonight I thought I would look it up on youtube and sure enough there it was and now we have listened to it 3 times! It's so cute to watch her sing and dance, but when I get the camera out she just says, "cheese" so there will not be any videos at least tonight!

Our Trip to Oklahoma

When packing to go to Oklahoma I remembered this backpack I had and thought Kaylin would really enjoy it and that way we would have a little more space in our carry on bags for her favorite Airplane toys! As soon as I got Kaylin dressed and her hair done she grabbed the backpack and said, "I ready!" We continued to hear this every 5 minutes until all of us were ready about 45 minutes later.
We arrived at the Airport a little over 2 hours before our flight. We had read and heard that security was at a higher level so we needed to allow lots of time to get to our flight. We checked in and went through security in about 5 total minutes (we've seen worse and went only an hour before our flight)!

To keep our 2 year old entertained and a pregnant mommy fed we went to terminal one for lunch. Kaylin had such a fun time walking on the moving walkway.
Once we were fed we headed to the "E" gates to see if we could get our seats assigned and to get a chair for me to sit down in (I get really tired standing too long and it kind of hurts my hips a little)! Ryan and Kaylin continued to walk the airport, riding on the walkways and the escalators(We walk Kaylin EVERY time we fly so she behaves better on the plane... so far our plan to wear her out has worked and she sleeps most of the flight and we don't have to deal with a crying child on the plane). Kaylin was so excited to fly to Oklahoma she kept saying, "Fy to Okahoma!"

It didn't take Kaylin and Emerson long to start playing with each other at Nana and Papa's house. The really had fun playing barbies with Addison, and tea parties with Nana and Papa!

On Sunday, January 3rd, since family and friends can't make it to her official birthday, We had an early 2nd birthday party! She had so much fun playing with the kids, balloons, and seeing the presents that she would soon get to open!

The kids (Emerson, Addison John, Avery John, Kaylin, and Addison) really enjoyed the meal and they all really liked eating at their own table. Kaylin especially liked the Mac & Cheese and the Green Beans. We also ate a yummy Pork Loin (thanks Laura and Raymond), Cheesy mashed potatoes (a craving of a certain pregnant person I know), Yams, Dressing, Fruit Salad, and French Bread!

After dinner, the 3 oldest girls (Addison, Avery and Addison) brought their swim suits and got in the jetted tub. Kevin put a few too many bubbles in the tub but the girls didn't care, they had so much fun! Poor Kaylin and Emerson who really wanted to join them but couldn't!

After the "Swim" we had Cake and Ice Cream! This is Kaylin's cake before we lit the candle and sang to her!

Blowing out the candle (with Daddy's help)!

Next came the presents! She was so excited to open them! Thank you to everyone who gave her something! She LOVES her new clothes, toys, bee pillow, and piggy bank!

With a house full of kids there is always something exciting that happens! This bunch enjoyed putting on parades! Above is their "circus theme" parade (each girl had a talent that they did when the came through the den! They also had an "Indian theme" where each one had a drum or other loud musical instrument and they would come singing "Way ya hay way ya hay..." and then there was the "silent parade" where they said and did nothing but walk through the den! It was such a fun entertaining thing that now Kaylin wants to do a "parade" as much as we will let her!
Cheesy Kaylin the next day in her newest outfit from Aunt Kelly, Uncle Kevin, Addison and Emerson! She looked so cute! (This has become our "favorite" outfit... if it's clean she is wearing it)

We had Kaylin teach Emerson how to play "Ring Around the Rosies." Once we started singing Emerson knew exactly what to do, we figured she must have seen it at DayCare! The girls probably played this for a good 30 minutes saying more, more after each time!

Here the girls were being silly, both laying on the floor rolling around after showing Grandma and Grandpa Myers "Ring Around the Rosies"

After playing came story time with Nana... both girls really wanted to hear the story so Nana took them both!
All weekend, Kaylin and Emerson would not let Papa hold just one of them. He was constantly holding both of his girls!

Kaylin really enjoyed playing with the Merry-go-round at Grandma Myers house. She would play alone but this time she wanted Grandma to come play with her.
We had such a GREAT time and can't believe that the next time we are there we will have 2 more babies to add to the traveling!
