Murphy Look-alike Meter

I got this from Kristi's blog so I thought I would try it just to see who Kaylin looks more like, just for fun... She looks more like Ryan than me!!!

Memorial Day Weekend...

We had a great weekend with Family. Kaylin was a bit cranky because of her shots. For the first couple of days she did not sleep well and cried a lot. On Sunday she learned to throw tantrums until we figured out what she really wanted. Monday she did the same!! Kaylin loved being outside whenever the weather was nice, and loved playing with grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins!

Kaylin's 4 month Appointment

Can you believe that Kaylin is already 4 months old? She is getting so big... at her appointment today she weighed 12 lbs. 3 oz. (20%) and 25 1/2 inches (80%)! She is where she should be developmentally... playing with toys, grabbing at them, beginning to roll over, and using her voice! I can't believe how much a child changes in the first few months of life and how much she is learning!

Kaylin Rolled Over

Yesterday, after changing Kaylin I put her on her tummy like I usually do. Instead of screaming like she usually does, she promptly rolled over to her back. I thought this was a fluke so I put her back on her tummy and she rolled over again. I went for the camera to capture on video but as soon as I turned on the camera she would not roll all the way over. When Ryan got home from work, I put her on her tummy then went for the camera, before I could get the camera on she was already on her back. We put her back on her tummy to try again this time I had the camera ready! Would she do it for the camera? NO! I am going to keep trying to get the video, but... she is a stubborn girl and she will NOT do it unless she is good and ready! NOW the waiting begins for her to go from back to front!

Kaylin Eats Cereal...

In a previous post I wrote how I wished Kaylin would stop spitting up so much. Well, yesterday, she vomitted the contents of her stomach, so I went in to the doctor to see what could be done. She is already on prevacid and I knew that she needed more help. The doctor wants us to try rice cereal at every feeding to see if maybe she is just ready for a little more substance to her milk if there is no improvement within 10-14 days then they want to take an x-ray to see if she isn't swallowing correctly or if she really does have "GERD" (reflux)! So far so good, she has eaten her rice cereal well (from a spoon) the doctor wanted me to put it in her bottle, but I didn't feel good about doing that!

The joys of Parenting...

Yesterday was quite an experience for Ryan and I! With about 30 minutes left of church, Kaylin woke up, cuddled with dad for a minute or two and then threw up all over him soaking his shirt and pants (which now have to go to the cleaners). Ryan handed Kaylin to me then started cleaning himself up with a burp rag and I took another to clean Kaylin up which at this point I now have throw up all over me as well. 2 burp rags later we managed to clean us all up and Kaylin didn't even cry so not many people around us even knew she had thrown up that much! Then today... I was feeding her in our room! She was laying on my pillow because she isn't wanting to be held when she eats, she then spit up all over that pillow case, I moved her to a new pillow and she spit up all over that one and then all over my sheets. I couldn't believe that much stuff could come out of a baby. It was so frustrating, because I JUST washed our sheets on Friday!

Kaylin Teething

On Tuesday, Kaylin was so cranky! She wasn't napping well and she has had a cough for a month now. I decided that since she was so cranky and not napping then I would take her to the doctor to see if there might be something else wrong like an ear infection or a sore throat. The doctor checked her out and found that everything was normal except she is cutting BOTH of her lower front teeth! I wasn't expecting this yet because all the books say around 6 months to watch for teething! As soon as we got home I gave her some tylenol and went to the store for teething tablets! She is a much happier baby as long as I keep her drugged up! I just hope those teeth pop through soon!

My First Mother's Day...

I can't believe that I finally got to celebrate Mother's Day as a MOM!!! Last year I thought I might be pregnant and the next day I found out that I was! Can't believe a YEAR ago I was pregnant and now I have the cutest little Girl! Kaylin is such a joy in my life. We have so much fun every day! She has started giving kisses (well sort of) and just this morning realized that if I get close enough she can grab my hair and pull. She will not let go either; I have to pry her fingers apart to get my hair out! Kaylin has also found her voice and will squeel with delight most of the day! This makes church a little more difficult now, because she wants to hear her voice at times she shouldn't! I am so lucky to have such a great baby! I can't believe that tomorrow she is 16 weeks old! Where did that time go? Next week we go to the doctor and I can't wait to see how she has grown from her 2 month appointment!

Kaylin LOVES to swing

We bought a swing for our swing set outside, and yes she LOVES to swing! She would play outside all day if we let her! She throws a fit when we take her out and bring her inside. Who would have thought that a 3 1/2 month old baby would know that throwing fits might get you what you want. I hope you enjoy the video!
